Quartz Sands as fluidized bed material
Due to its high purity Crystal Quartz Sand from Schlingmeier has a high thermal-mechanical stability. In general the sintering point exceeds 1600°C. The high fluidizability of the sand results from the favourable particle shape which is subangular. The sand is free of under – and oversized grains which is directly reflected in low material consumption. High refractoriness, good fluidizability and optimal grain size make it an outstanding material for fluidized bed combustion.
Specifically for the needs of biomass-fired power plants where high quantities of critical elements such as Cl, N, S, Na and K are likely to occur we offer mineral mixtures of quartz and dolomite. Due to the absorbing effect slagging and corrosion of the combustion chamber as well as emissions can be reduced.
The following table shows selected grades which are preferable used in combustors. All dry sands (T) can be supplied as blended grades. Please let us know your required grain size distribution.
